In the South area, three geomorphological sites are opened to the public. These sites present some spectacular rock formations, from the Canadian Shield to its volcanic origins. The first site, the Leblanc Park, gives you the opportunity to observe some rocky cushions, resulting from the contact between lava and cold water.
At the Allard Park, you will see blocks of stratified lava, which have been polished by the glaciers. Finally, the Souvenir Park presents rock made of stromatolites, in which lie some fossils that can normally be seen at the Equator. This would support the theory that at the beginning, there was a single continent on earth.
