A Meteorite at the Bottom of a Lake

The lac de la Presqu'île draws more attention since scientists discovered metamorphic rock in the area. This meteoric formation, along with the circular shape of the lake, would prove that a meteorite fell here some 759 million years ago. Nowadays, the crater has a diameter of 20 kilometres, after vertical erosion removed more than 3,000 metres of rock from the lake.
