Lake Matagami offers more than just a beach! This 400-km2 recreation site is a large area for nature interpretation where it is possible to discover the James Bay forest and its Nordic vegetation. In order to go on such a great excursion, walk along one of the paths, which, if put end to end, offer more than 30 kilometres of walking, biking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
During your excursion, you will surely get a glimpse of a beaver dam and some small wild animals, as well as of conifers and lichen. Take advantage of this recreation area to discover taiga and to breathe some fresh air.
