A Large Array of Activities
Matagami is a unique ecotourism destination that gives you the opportunity to go hiking, sea kayaking, canoeing, camping, snowshoeing and do all kinds of other activities year round. For those who like to hike, the Bell River Park offers several beautiful walking paths that cross the boreal forest. Interpretation panels will also give you more information about this enchanting environment, and an observation tower will allow you to admire the surrounding area.
In summer or winter, adventure lovers will be enchanted by the Lake Matagami Recreational Zone where a pedestrian path network was built on one of the oldest volcanoes in North America. Finally, the Matagami Lake Campground will please outdoor enthusiasts. Located on the banks of Lake Matagami, it has a beautiful golden sand beach and offers visitors many activities: swimming, water sports, hiking, fishing and camping.
